Slatesystem PU is a special formulation of
diphenylmethane-4, 4-diisocyanate adhesive,
developed to adhere Aarondec or Tiletech
promenade tiles to bituminous felt and sanded
asphalt.
Its unique feature is its ability to expand with atmospheric
moisture to provide a firm base on the underside of
the tile. It can be used affectively in damp and humid
conditions which normally prevent tiling work being
carried out
The Correct Amount of Adhesive
|

|
The thickness of the beads and blobs of adhesive
applied must be within the necessary tolerances to
ensure even expansion on each tile and a level area
when completed. The applicator bottle nozzle should
be cut as indicated to ensure correct bead size.
|
Aarondec/Diamond Cut Tiles
|

|
Area to be tiled must be free of dust, grease and
foreign matter. The surface can be damp but not wet.
Not more than six tiles should be prepared for laying
at one time, to ensure that the adhesive does not
expand before the tiles are in position.
|
Applying the Adhesive
|

|
A 20mm adhesive-free border should be left around
the edge of each tile for handling and to allow the
adhesive to expand fully to the corners and edges.
Adhesive should be laid in beads approximately 3mm
high.
|
Ensure that the beads extend to the corners of
the inner area. Follow same procedure for part tiles.
